Hi Jeremy- I read what Kristy had wrote & all of it is very true. Don't take life for granted is what I always say & think. Watch over your dad when he travels to Ohio-I pray for your family & friends that they have a safe trip. Always shine on us Jeremy. Love you always, Jenny

Jeremy, I’m the 2011 scholarship recipient. From everything I have read you’re truly missed by all, I wish I would’ve had a pleasure to meet you. This year many of my friends & students around me in general weren't making the wisest decisions and had passed away. I wrote a Facebook status that reflected my feelings. Your dad asked me to post it here; I sent it to him read, he seems like an awesome man and loves you very much. Tomorrow night the 2012 recipient will be presented with your scholarship, I’m sure your dad picked a wonderful candidate to not only represent them but you as well. Below is the Facebook status, wouldn’t fit in one full message. -Kristy Shore

Shortened version of what I wrote: "I wish I was five years old again. When happiness came so easy & this world was a cheerful place to live in. You could hand me the littlest thing in the world, say a piece of string for that matter but I would be happy with it & make that little piece of string the highlight of my day. I remember telling my dad, 'I'm going to be the first woman president daddy, you watch!' And as the great father he was, he would say, 'I’ll be watching Kristy; I know you can do it.' But as I sit here thinking at 5 o’clock in the morning, I find myself in shock, so much has changed. Why is that the aspirations we had for many of us when we were younger, feel so far out of reach now? Why is it that as we got older, wanting to be the President, an Astronaut, a Doctor, a teacher, a NBA player, whatever your goals were growing up, seem to have faded into dream not near to reality. Every single person in this world can be successful doing whatever their heart desires, but it’s by choice. Accidents do happen, but take a lesson from what so many of us are hurt about; our loved ones we have lost. Each one of those kids, along with the many that have passed years prior to this & would love to be in our shoes right now. Love to be able to walk again, to smile again, to have the chance to live their dream again. But the sad truth is they won’t ever get to again, so do it for them. Enjoy life. Everyone says “no regrets,” time & time again. You’re right, you shouldn’t have any regrets but the fact is, you shouldn’t have to have any regrets. As they say; “you have one life, but if you do it right, it’s enough.” It’s completely true. Make the right choices. Doesn’t mean not party, not drink, whatever you do for fun. Just think. Think about the future. Because yeah, “live in the moment” might sound so cool right now but not seeing tomorrow isn’t so great. It blows my mind, we argue & fight & hurt each other, sometimes on purpose yet we have one life, and we waste it. Find your dreams again, & follow them; forget the careless drama & chaos that so many of us live for these days, & take the life you have & do something positive with it. Remember what it felt like to be five years old again, when nothing could hurt us & anything was possible. We’re all lucky to be alive, to be able to still live our dreams which many wish they could, so let’s do it. Not only for ourselves, but in honor of our friends that should be with us right now too."
